The Ministry of Youth and Sports expresses deep sorrow over the passing of Modou Gamo, one of The Gambia’s dedicated Para Powerlifting athletes.
Gamo proudly flew the national flag at various international events, including the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, bringing honour to our country through his strength and determination.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones, and the entire sporting community, particularly the Gambia National Paralympics Committee (GNPC).
May Allah grant him Jannah and grant his family the strength to bear this pain.
