The All People’s Party (APP Sobeyaa), under the leadership of Essa Mbye Faal, has donated medical equipment to the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) in Banjul on Friday.

Ebrima Burr Njie represented Sobeyaa at the handing over, and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Mustapha Bittaye received the donated items.

“The initiative aims to support the country’s healthcare system and promote service, unity, and compassion beyond politics,” said the group.

Commendation
Professor Yero Mballow, a social and political analyst, commended APP Sobeya for the gesture to the country’s main referral hospital, adding it is heartening to see political parties putting aside differences to support national development.

“The medical equipment donation will undoubtedly boost healthcare services at the main referral hospital,” Mballow stated.

He described the gesture as prioritizing citizens’ welfare over party interests, inspiring others to contribute to national development, and demonstrating that together, we can achieve more.

He hoped this spirit of collaboration continues, benefiting The Gambia’s healthcare and beyond.

“The donation is a step forward for The Gambia’s healthcare system. Such initiatives highlight the importance of collaboration between institutions and leaders to improve healthcare services.

The equipment donation aims to enhance medical services and patient care.”

He added that APP Sobeyaa’s effort emphasizes the value of leaders working together with institutions, as the initiative underscores the importance of prioritizing citizens’ health and well-being.

The Gambia’s healthcare system can benefit from sustained efforts and partnerships to address challenges and improve outcomes.
